Name that Thing by Merriam Webster

Aim: identify the word you see in the picture/improve your reading speed and vocabulary
Level: advanced.Words range between middle advanced to advanced levels. See pictures to decide if this quizzes are within your reach!
Procedure:
  • You have 15 seconds to answer each question.
  • The faster you answer, the higher your score.
  • The harder the question, the higher your score.
  • At the end you can compare your score with other participants'  within your age range.

Having students rewrite the rules in their own words is a great idea that I had never thought of. I will definitely give it a try!

It's great that big companies like Merriam and Webster are offering free online vocational training. I feel like lots of schools could take advantage of that. It'd be good for everyone.

I would agree that writing things down really helps. It's in your own words, and you have a better chance of remembering because you wrote it down. I think that's why note taking it such a good way to remember information. http://www.hillsideenterprises.org

Another very effective way of improving vocabulary is by writing your own blogs. There are some sites which helps to build vocabulary through online test and provides learning sessions too,One can try that.
