Newspapers in the UK according to BBC Yes, Prime Minister

Aim: students learn about the stereotypical readers of UK newspapers and practice present passive sentences by repetition of the sentence structure: " x is read by y".

Level: although the  speed language used in the video is quite fast, I have prepared some pre-watching tasks that would allow intermediate students (or higher) to carry out this task.

Prodedure: students carry out the pre-viewing tasks and then watch the video to correct their predictions.


Materials:
  • Video (1 minute 49 seconds), which you can watch on-line below or download from the site below
  • Script and teacher's help.
  • Student's pre-watching tasks.
